Since 2006, Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs) have enabled organisations to sustainably and strategically take meaningful action to advance reconciliation.
Based around the core pillars of relationships, respect and opportunities, RAPs provide tangible and substantive benefits for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, increasing economic equity and supporting First Nations self-determination.
There are four RAP types โ Reflect, Innovate, Stretch and Elevate. Each type of RAP is designed to suit an organisation at different stages of their reconciliation journey. Westhaven is commencing with a Reflect RAP.
Reflect: Building strong foundations
A Reflect RAP will help prepare Westhaven to engage in reconciliation meaningfully.
Committing to a Reflect RAP starts with engaging staff and leaders in understanding the importance of reconciliation.
It includes developing relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders, and scoping where we can best have impact in your sphere of influence.
A Reflect RAP is implemented over 12 โ 18 months.
